The following instructions are for the minimum settings required in order to get your WebPhone running. We highly recommend that you read the Release Notes in order to be able to use your WebPhone to its full extent.
Once the WebPhone is installed, a configuration wizard will open. Please fill in the information requested. You are required to fill in the following fields:
First Name
Last Name
Street address
City
State
Postal code
Country
Telephone
E-mail address
WebPhone Password
Password ConfirmationThe alias (or nickname), Apt/Suite, Fax, and organization fields are not required. Please note that the e-mail address for the WebPhone is case sensitive. This address determines not only how people will call you but where your off-line voice mail will be sent. For this reason we highly recommend entering your correct e-mail address.
Once you have filled in the necessary information, the interactive users manual will appear. This program is a step-by-step guide to the features of the WebPhone and should help explain the many capabilities of the program.
After the manual is closed, the WebPhone will start.
Once installed, you can start the WebPhone by going to the WebPhone program group and selecting WebPhone. Also available in the WebPhone program group are the Release Notes and How To Guide. Both of these documents explain the many functions of the WebPhone and will give insight on how to use these features.
If you would like to be able to send and receive off-line voice mail, you will need to make one additional step in the configuration. Once you have launched the WebPhone, click on the down arrow to open the flip door on the phone. Click on the CFG button and go the Network Parameters (the second button on the left side of the configure window.) The POP server, SMTP server, e-mail login, and e-mail password fields will need to be filled in. If you are not sure of this information, please contact your service provider. In most cases your e-mail login is your e-mail address without the "@isp.net". For example, rwilco@provider.net would be rwilco. Once you enter this information, click on the word "configure" in the title bar to save the changes.
